Services offered ...

I offer individual art therapy and counselling for children, adolescents and adults, with sessions tailored to each person’s age, needs, interests and circumstances.

The aim is to support each person on their individual journey towards greater self-understanding, healing and positive change, while developing healthy ways of navigating life’s challenges and supporting overall mental health and wellbeing.

Art Therapy

Art therapy combines therapeutic support with creative processes such as drawing, painting, collage, clay, sculpture and other forms of creative expression.

Together, we may explore thoughts, emotions, experiences and personal meanings that emerge through the creative process. Artwork is not analysed or judged; rather, it provides another avenue for communication, reflection and therapeutic exploration.

For some people, creating an image or working with materials can make something visible that has been difficult to put into words, opening the way for greater understanding, insight and change.

No previous art experience or artistic ability is required.

Counselling

Counselling provides a confidential and supportive space to talk through experiences, emotions, relationships and challenges.

Rather than using one approach for everyone, I work collaboratively with each client and draw from a range of therapeutic approaches including Person-Centred Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy, Narrative Therapy and strengths-based approaches. Counselling is often focused on the here and now, personal growth, coping strategies, relationships and building on your existing strengths.

Counselling may be offered independently or integrated with art therapy.

Children & Adolescents

Creative approaches can be particularly valuable for children and young people who may find it difficult to explain how they are feeling through conversation alone.

Sessions provide a supportive and age-appropriate environment where young people can explore emotions, relationships, identity, confidence and the challenges they are experiencing.

Areas of support may include anxiety and worry, emotional regulation, self-esteem and confidence, friendships and relationships, school-related stress, academic and life organisation, achieving goals, identity, family change, grief and loss, life transitions and coping with difficult experiences.

What to Expect ...

The first appointment is an opportunity to get to know one another and begin building a safe and comfortable therapeutic relationship.

Depending on the young person’s age and circumstances, I may initially meet with the young person and their parent or guardian together before spending time with the young person individually.

Art therapy and counselling can support adults through periods of change, uncertainty and emotional difficulty, while also providing an opportunity for greater self-understanding and personal growth.

People may seek support for anxiety, stress, grief and loss, relationships, self-esteem, identity, major life transitions, emotional overwhelm, achieving goals or simply feeling that something in their life needs to change.

Sessions are tailored to the individual, and you can choose whether you would prefer counselling, creative approaches, or a combination of both.

Your privacy is important to me.

Information shared during counselling or art therapy sessions is treated with respect and confidentiality, and personal information and clinical records are stored securely. This will be further discussed at the beginning of the first session.

Sessions are offered on a one-to-one basis and are tailored to the individual needs of each client. Where appropriate, and with the client’s consent, a significant family member or support person may occasionally be invited to participate in a session.

Standard appointments are 60 minutes.

A reduced fee of $110 per 60-minute session is currently available until 30 June 2027. From 1 July 2027, the standard fee of $140 per session will apply.

Payment is required at the conclusion of each appointment.

Sessions are primarily conducted face-to-face at Grounded, Walcha, with telehealth sessions available by prior arrangement.

Medicare and private health insurance rebates are not currently available for art therapy or counselling sessions. Eligibility for private health fund provider registration will be available in 2027.

I am not a registered NDIS provider; however, I welcome and support people living with disability and additional support needs. Art therapy and counselling sessions are available to self-managed NDIS participants where the service aligns with the participant’s individual goals and funding arrangements.

I understand that circumstances can change and sometimes appointments need to be rescheduled or cancelled. If you are unable to attend your appointment, please provide as much notice as possible.

Cancellations made within 48 hours of the scheduled appointment time, or no-shows, will incur a cancellation fee of 50% of the session fee.

Consideration may be given to unexpected or exceptional circumstances.
